1982 D Memorial Penny - Excellent Condition - Slight hints of wear marks, minimal contact marks, near mint luster, positive eye appeal.

On Sunday morning, December 21, 1958, President Eisenhower issued a press release announcing that a new reverse design for the cent would begin production on January 2, 1959. The new design featured the Lincoln Memorial in Washington, D.C. The coin was officially released on February 12, 1959, the 150th anniversary of Lincoln's birth, although some pieces entered circulation early.

These pennies turn 40 years old this year (2022). Would make a cool gift for someone's 41st birthday. As can be seen in the pictures, the coin is in great shape. XF Grade.

1982 was the last year for production of copper Lincoln Memorial pennies. The transition to Zinc core with copper coating happened during the 1982 minting production. Denver continued to produce copper cents until October 21, 1982. That was conversion day.

Copper pennies weigh 3.11 grams. Zinc copper plated pennies weigh 2.5 grams. All pennies in this listing have been weighted to validate they are copper and not zinc / copper plated coins.
