This listing is for the photographed 1928A Federal Reserve 100 Dollar Dark Green Seal New York Issue Note. Note was issued at the Federal Reserve Bank in New York, NY, "B" issue. Dark Green Seal (DGS), differentiating it from the lighter green prints of these notes. Obverse of note says, "Redeemable in Gold on demand at the United States Treasury, or in gold or lawful money or at any Federal Reserve Bank". Woods/Mellon signatures. Very Fine (VF) grade/condition, visible folds and other signs of circulation, as pictured. Fr#2151-B (Friedburg Number 2151-B).

Under the Series of 1928, all small-sized notes carried a standardized design. All $100 bills would feature a portrait of Franklin, the same border design on the obverse, and the Independence Hall on the reverse. The $100 bill was issued as a Federal Reserve Note with a green seal and serial numbers.

Series 1928 was the first series of modern, small-sized notes issued. Since then, the series year has been changed when there is a major design change to a bill; a minor design change is indicated by a letter suffix being added to the series year.
